In the morning hours of February 10, 2010, a large rock fall impacted a property at 274 West Main Street in Rockville, Utah. The estimated 450-ton rock fell from the upper slope of Rockville Bench, began to roll downslope, collided with a previously fallen boulder at the base of the slope, and shattered into numerous smaller fragments that damaged several outbuildings, two cars, and a house.

This 17-page report investigates the geologic characteristics and cause of the rock fall, documents the severity and extent of property damage, and makes a preliminary evaluation of future rock-fall hazard potential elsehwhere in Rockville.
