This CD-ROM contains a 39-page report in easily readable PDF format. The report addresses the need for an aquifer/recharge study since the Southern Nevada Water Authority has proposed a system of 146 water-supply wells in south-central and south-eastern Nevada to supply water to the Las Vegas area.

Numeric models show a potential ground-water decline from the proposed wells of greater than 100 feet (31 m) in westernmost Millard County, Utah. This magnitude of drawdown would adversely affect both existing and future spring, surface, and groundwater uses in Utah. This study provides a preliminary assessment of the basin-scale hydrogeologic framework of Snake Valley based on previous work. The goals are to assess the potential impacts of the proposed SNWA well field on ground-water resources in Utah based on the basin-scale geologic framework and existing hydrologic modeling, and to recommend future work to understand these relationships more thoroughly.
