The Co-op Creek quadrangle is about 25 miles east-northeast of Provo, Utah, and is in the Strawberry River drainage basin above Strawberry Reservoir. Bedrock exposures in the quadrangle provide a glimpse of the Charleston-Nebo thrust system through a cover of later Tertiary strata and Quaternary deposits, and provide a geologic link between Permian and Mesozoic rocks exposed to the northwest in the Wasatch Mountains and rocks of similar age to the east on the southwest flank of the Uinta Mountains.

This open-file release makes information available to the public during the review and production period necessary for a formal UGS publication. The map may be incomplete, and inconsistencies, errors, and omissions have not been resolved.
