The Plain City quadrangle lies in north-central Utah within the eastern Basin and Range Province. The quadrangle includes the northeastern part of Great Salt Lake (Willard Bay), the western part of the Pleasant View salient, the lower reaches of the Weber River, and the towns of Plain City and Farr West. Bedrock in the Plain City quadrangle crops out in the northeastern part of the quadrangle, and consists of Proterozoic metamorphic and igneous rocks, and Middle to Lower Cambrian sedimentary rocks. The majority of the quadrangle is covered by Quaternary surficial deposits, mainly lacustrine, fluvial, and deltaic deposits associated with Pleistocene and Holocene Lake Bonneville/Great Salt Lake cycles, and Weber River erosion and deposition. The eastern part of the quadrangle contains the lower and toe portions of the North Ogden landslide, a liquefaction-induced complex lateral spread/flow slide initiated by large prehistoric earthquakes. The Wasatch fault cuts Holocene and older unconsolidated deposits in the northeastern part of the quadrangle.

Contains two plates, the geologic map at 1:24,000 scale and the explanation sheet, both.
